I read a Marketing Sherpa article on internet marketing strategies a couple of years ago that referred to "RSS, Podcasting, online video, Web 2.0, you name it..." as "hype" and the "latest hot new tactic". Well that "hype" is now vital to any marketing strategy if a business is to be successful driving income. Those internet marketing strategies incorporating this hype years ago drove HUGE income; that underground industry I called "the Fringe" is now core to every corporate marketing strategy in the mainstream. Crossing the chasm was an X-treme Jump! 2 years ago on this site, I predicted within 2 years or less, these internet marketing strategy tools would ALL have "crossed the chasm" into the mainstream and those not using them would be considered "old school"! We have arrived and the race is still on. Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, StumpleUpon, FriendFeed, Squidoo, TrafficGeyser etc….these weird named tools are not just for the young consumer crowd anymore? Now us serious Business to Business (B2B) or Business to Consumer (B2C) marketers use these serious internet marketing tactics!
